Jakarta Soekarno Hatta International Airport (IATA code: CGK) is the primary and largest airport in Indonesia, at the same time, it also acts as the primary gateway to Indonesia. The airport spans an area of more than 6,000 acres. Located in Banten, outkirt of Jakarta, it operates three terminals: Terminal 1, Terminal 2, and Terminal 3. Each terminal is not directly connected and separated at a rather lengthy distance, an understandable feature due to the sheer size of the airport area. The airport authority operates shuttle buses and shuttle trains to facilitate passenger transfer between terminals. However, note that the inter-terminal transfer may take a good portion of your precious time, so it is important to plan ahead your mobility around the airport when time is crucial; knowing that you depart from the right terminal or doing the pick-up at the right terminal.

In this article, we elaborate on the airlines that operate from Jakarta Airport CGK Terminal 3: the list of the airlines, the changes in the airline list, the location of the check-in counters for each airline, the closest entrance gate to check-in counter, and other details that you may need to know about Terminal 3. As of July 2026, there are 40 airlines operating at Jakarta Airport CGK Terminal 3. Both international and domestic flight routes are served from Terminal 3. However, domestic flight routes are only operated by Indonesian carriers.

As you can see from the list, three carriers operate both domestic and international routes from Terminal 3, namely Garuda Indonesia (GA), Pelita Air (IP), and TransNusa (8B). These three airlines are all Indonesian carriers. The other airlines only operate international routes from Terminal 3.

Changes of Airlines Operating from Jakarta Airport CGK Terminal 3 from September 2024 to 2026

Since we published our first article about airlines operating from Jakarta CGK Airport Terminal 3 back in September 2024, we have been tracking changes in the airlines operating from the terminal. We believe this is an interesting data point for aviation enthusiasts and also helps others in getting the bigger picture about how Terminal 3 evolves from time to time.

If you look carefully at the airline assignment images, you may notice that several airlines share the same check-in counters or booths. This is operationally possible since the airlines have different flight departure times throughout the day, allowing the check-in counters to be rotated among airlines.

You may also notice that some airlines are assigned counters at more than one islands. Concrete examples, China Airlines is assigned check-in counters at Island B and Island C, Philippine Airlines operates its check-in counters at Island B and Island C, and Xiamen Air is assigned counters at Island C and Island D. This means that if your flight is with any of China Airlines, Philippine Airlines, and Xiamen Air, you need to first check your flight number to determine the location of your check-in counters. As you arrive at the airport, double check with the flight information display system (FIDS), to ensure the counter location is still the same with the pre-assigned spot.

Check-in Counters for Domestic Flight Departures from CGK Terminal 3 in 2026

Check-in counters for domestic flights departing from Soekarno-Hatta Terminal 3 are located at Island E and Island F on the departure level (second floor). Airline assignment for domestic departures in 2026 is explained as follows.

Island E: Pelita Air Service (domestic flights) and TransNusa (domestic flights)

As you may notice, both TransNusa and Pelita Air are assigned check-in counters for domestic and international flights at Island E.

As you can see in the picture above, Garuda is assigned all available check-in counters at Island F, which are counters F1-F26, for the operations of its domestic flights.
