What Happens to Asiana Lounges at Terminal 1 after the Move to Terminal 2

KoreaTravel

After 25 years of operations at Incheon Airport Terminal 1, Asiana officially moved to Terminal 2 on January 14th, 2026. The relocation can be seen as a strategy by Korean Air to consolidate its operations, including its subsidiary airlines, at Terminal 2. If you haven’t followed the news, Asiana Airlines has been officially acquired by Korean Air and the whole acquisition process is expected to be completed at the end of this year (December 2026). Now, the question that lingers: “What to be expected for the Asiana lounges at Terminal 1 after Asiana moved to Terminal 2?” We summarize our current findings and also subsequent future update in this article.

At Terminal 1, Asiana previously operated four lounges: Asiana Business Lounge East, Asiana Business Suite East, Asiana Business Lounge Central, and Asiana Business Lounge West. The lounges were spread across the departure hall as we already covered in our article about lounges at Terminal 1. Cost-wise, it won’t make make much sense for Asiana to keep operating these lounges after the relocation to Terminal 2. Therefore, it becomes interesting to see what will happen to each lounge and how it will affect non-Asiana passengers who previously could access Asiana lounges at Terminal 1, such as those in Star Alliance flights or those with Priority Pass memberships.

According to articles published by local Korean news outlets (economistnewswatch), two out of four Asiana lounges at Terminal 1 will be shut down. The remaining two will continue to be in use but they will be repurposed by the new lounge operators. Details of the changes are as follows:

  • Asiana Business Lounge East will be shut down in March 2026.
  • Asiana Business Suite Lounge East will be shut down in December 2026.
  • Asiana Business Lounge Central will be repurposed into Sky Team Lounge, with official opening date to be announced later this year.
  • Asiana Business Lounge West has been renamed and transformed into Star Alliance Lounge, effective from January 14th, 2026.

Besides the changes to Asiana Lounge, the relocation also impacts the lounge operated by Korean Air at Terminal 1. The news cites that Korean Air plans to close Korean Air Lounge (KAL Lounge) at Terminal 1 in 2026. The exact date for the closure will also be announced later this year.
