Airline Check-in Counters at Jakarta Airport CGK Terminal 3 – 2025 Update

As of December 2025, there are 36 passenger airlines serving international flights and 3 passenger airlines serving domestic flights at Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta Airport CGK. The number of airlines serving international flights slightly decreased from 37 airlines observed in October 2025. It is discovered in December 2025 that Sichuan Airlines (IATA code: 3U) suspended flights departing from Jakarta Airport CGK. Airline check-in counter assignments also underwent significant changes, so we decided to put the update here as a dedicated article instead of updating the previous post.

Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (IATA code: CGK) is the biggest airport in Indonesia that serves as the primary gateway for international departure and arrival. The airport operates three terminals, namely Terminal 1, Terminal 2, and Terminal 3.

Terminal 1 was the first terminal built and started the operation in 1985. This terminal serves flights for domestic (low cost) airlines such as Air Asia Indonesia, Airfast Indonesia, Super Air Jet, Sriwijaya Air, and Citilink (domestic flights).

Terminal 2 was the second terminal built and started the operation in 1991. This terminal caters to domestic flights for private airlines such as Batik Air and Lion Air, and international flights for low-cost carriers (LCC) such as Air Asia, Batik Air Malaysia, Cebu Pacific, JetStar Asia, Scoot, IndiGo, VietJet, and Citilink (international flights).

Terminal 3 is the newest and largest terminal, originally opened in November 2011. This terminal primarily caters to international flights served by full service carriers. It also serves domestic flights for state-owned airlines (Garuda, Pelita Air Service) and select airline (TransNusa).

The number of international airlines serving flights from Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta International Airport has been expanding since more airlines open routes from Jakarta to the airlines’ home base and vice versa. Note that Pelita Air (IP), TransNusa (8B), and Garuda Indonesia (GA) operate both domestic and international flights from Jakarta Airport Terminal 3.

Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Terminal 3 main building is a massive 4-level structure occupying a vast area of more than 300 thousand square meters. The departure level for both domestic and international flights is on the second floor while the arrival level is on the first floor. There are 206 check-in counters installed in the departure hall to serve passengers flying to domestic and international destinations. The check-in counters are spread across six sections / islands, namely island A to island F.

The airport authority pre-assigns check-in counters for airlines serving flights from Terminal 3. If you are about to depart from Soekarno-Hatta Terminal 3, be it domestic or international bound, it is possible to know the location of the check-in counter prior to your flight day. This is since the check-in counter(s) will open at the same location(s).

Check-in Counters for International Departure at Jakarta Airport Terminal 3

Check-in counters for international flights departing from Soekarno-Hatta Terminal 3 are located at Island A to Island E on the departure level (second floor). Airline assignment for each island is explained as follows.

Island A: check-in counters for EgyptAir, Garuda Indonesia (internasional), Singapore Airlines, and Xiamen Air.

Some airlines may have been assigned the same counter numbers for passenger check-in. This is possible since each assigned airline operate flights at different time.

Check-in Counters for Domestic Departure at Jakarta Airport Terminal 3

Check-in counters for domestic flights departing from Soekarno-Hatta Terminal 3 are located at Island E and Island F on the departure level (second floor). Airline assignment for domestic departure is explained as follows.

Island E: Pelita Air Service (IP) for domestic flights, TransNusa (8B) for domestic flights

Airline check-in counter assignments for domestic flights at Island E are as follows:

As you may notice, TransNusa and Pelita Air are assigned check-in counters for domestic and international flights at Island E.

Island F: Garuda Indonesia (GA) for domestic flights

Note that all check-in counters at Island F, which are counters F1-F26, are assigned to domestic flights operated by Garuda Indonesia.
